Click to enlarge photo for Washeshu The Elders of the Washoe nation are the traditional custodians of the land around Lake Tahoe: a renowned beauty spot on the border of Nevada and California.

Although their numbers have been drastically reduced, the Washoe have undergone a cultural resurgence in recent years. This film, by Washoe man Art George, is an important step in the rebuilding of their culture.
